With New Years right around the corner, most of us are starting to set our resolutions. However something we often over look is our “why” in life. It’s so easy to get sucked into the latest weight loss challenge or program, but we often aren’t paying attention to our reason for setting our goals in the first place.
I wanted to take a moment and really address this, as knowing your why will help you set better goals, and motivate you when the going gets tough.
For myself personally, my family is my why. I want to run around with my children, and not have preventable illnesses and diseases stop that from happening. My other motivator is my anxiety (and seasonal depression). Exercise has been hands down the most effective thing in improving those two things and helping me get out of my own head.
I want to really encourage you for a moment to think about what your why is.
Why would losing weight be one of your 2018 resolutions? Why do you care about eating healthier for the new year? What is it that is ultimately driving your wants, dreams, and goals?
Once you figure that out, everything else falls into place a little easier.
